Graduating Student Profiles

Susan Bellemore was honored as the recipient of NECF's Outstanding Academic Achievement Award for 2007. In 2003, encouraged by her employer, Rockville Bank, Susan chose to follow the Branch Management degree concentration. Susan began her career at Rockville Bank as a teller which was followed by promotions to teller supervisor, customer service representative and now an Assistant Branch Manager.

Of her NECF experience, Susan commented, "Each course has given me something that I have been able to use as I progressed in my career. Each passing grade has also given me the confidence to do more, to step outside my comfort zone and reach for the stars. If you want it, you can achieve it." Her next goal is to become a Branch Manager – there is no doubt she will realize her goal!

Lisa Anderson is an alumnus of NECF, graduating in 2003. With over 23 years in the banking industry, Lisa was a survivor of all the bank mergers which took place over the last several years. She began as a file clerk and through a myriad of promotions is now group manager. Of the promotion to group manager, Lisa credits her education from NECF, "I would not have had the required skills for this position without my education. I use the communications and leadership skills that I acquired through NECF and University of Hartford every day. You should never be afraid to step outside your comfort zone." Lisa also is appreciative of the student advisors "who will help you to succeed", through encouragement, guidance, and motivation.

Take Susan and Lisa's advice – you should never be afraid to step outside your comfort zone and reach for the stars!
