The Financial Services Academy is a nonprofit workforce development initiative that works in partnership with schools, community organizations, concerned government agencies, and member companies within the financial services industry.
Created in 1999 as a way to meet the staffing needs of the financial services industry, the Financial Services Academy helps develop a steady stream of qualified, knowledgeable, and motivated candidates for entry-level positions.
The mission of the Academy is to provide a consistent pipeline of qualified candidates for entry-level positions in the financial services industry while making a profound difference in our communities. The Academy is a collaboration of community-based organizations, New England College of Finance, and Founding Member Companies in the financial services industry that target diverse populations for employment opportunities.
The core Financial Services Academy program prepares diverse populations for entry-level positions in financial services by working with leading companies and community-based organizations. The Academy offers an intensive, rigorous three-week program that replicates the pace, practices, and expectations of the industry itself, with quality customer service as the driving goal behind all instruction. Prior to attending the Academy, all candidates are expected to complete basic job readiness training through a Community-Based Organization or high school and be certified as capable of performing entry-level work in the industry. In addition to the core Academy program, programs are customized to meet employer and local market needs. In all cases, Academy tuitions are paid 100% by the Member Companies to enable qualified candidates to attend regardless of financial circumstance.
Once placed in entry-level positions, Academy graduates can continue their financial services education at NECF, either through degree or certificate programs.
