Orientation & Advising

When a student completes the application process, a letter of acceptance is included in a new student orientation package. Included in this orientation package is a Student Handbook, information regarding library services, and a curriculum worksheet. As part of the orientation process, an academic advisor contacts new students approximately one week after the orientation package is set out to answer questions regarding the program.

NECF highly recommends online students view the Online Course Demo and go through the Student Orientation Tutorial before taking courses in the online modality. Via phone or email, eCollege provides real-time technical support to the online students 24 hours a day all year.

Academic Advising

New England College of Finance strongly encourages students to seek course advisement on a semester-by-semester basis in order to best meet their academic goals and degree requirements. NECF´s academic advisors are available to assist in planning course sequences and semester course selections. They also can help students understand course requirements, transfer credits, waivers, and NECF´s academic policies. Students are strongly urged to seek advice in order to satisfactorily meet the requirements of their degree or certificate goals. Students who would like to talk with an advisor should call 617-951-2350 to schedule an appointment. Advising sessions can be done in person, over the phone, or by email.

Academic Assistance

Students seek help and advice during their education for many reasons. At NECF, the student comes first. Every effort is made to develop a relationship with the student body so individuals feel comfortable in requesting and receiving assistance. The Dean of Student Services is responsible for providing academic assistance and should be consulted when assistance is desired. Referrals to outside agencies may also be provided as needed. The administrative staff and the faculty are also available for advising assistance.
